Setting Up Credit Card Swiper

Note: Account Type must be "Retail". If set up as MOTO, will only be able to manually enter card numbers.

To install and configure uDyanmo and IDynamo Card Reader on your 1stPayMobile Mobile Device:

  1. Insert the uDynamo or IDynamo credit card swiper into your Mobile Device's headphone jack or 30-Pin/Lightning Port (for Apple Devices with iDynamo).
  2. Log into your 1stPayMobile App and select Menu from the bottom Navigation
  3. In the Equipment Section, a list of card readers will display. Select your card reader and tap OK.
  4. Now you can test your scanner by running a test transaction (we recommend using a dollar transaction amount). For information on running transactions, see this article.

Troubleshooting your Credit Card Swiper

Merchant Issue Solutions
Merchant's Card Swiper is not responding and Swipe Card dialog is not displaying
  • Ensure that the card reader is plugged in all the way
  • Ensure that the swiper has been synced with 1stPayMobile, as described in the steps above in the Setting Up Credit Card Swiper section
  • If using the uDynamo Card Swiper, check that the card reader is charged. If iDynamo, ensure that the device is charged sufficiently
  • Ensure that the operating system on the phone is the most up-to-date
  • Ensure that the most up-to-date version of the 1stPayMobile App is installed
  • For uDynamo: Check that the Mono Audio setting and Volume Limit is OFF
  • Device volume should be set to MAX
  • Try unplugging and plugging the swiper back in
  • Uninstall and reinstall the 1stPayMobile app
  • Ensure that account type is "Retail". If set up as MOTO, will only be able to manually enter credit card numbers
Credit card swiper will only swipe certain cards Check to see whether the magnetic strip on the back of the credit card is worn or damaged. Some wear faster than others. Try manually entering the card information.
